Ern...

We sadly lost Ernie Yates on 15th November. He was in The Queen Anne, doing what he loved... playing darts with friends. Ernie was loved and will be sadly missed by so many, to name a few... Wife Karen, son and daughter in law Andrew and Sue, daughter and son in law Dawn and Charlie. Grandchildren Emily and partner Stephano, Chika and Ezi and step grandchildren and partners Laura and Gordon, Thomas and Dominique, Sean and Louise and children. Brothers, sister and in laws Fred and Olwyn, Colin, Peter and Doreen, Joan and John... and late Jimmy, Eric and Mavis. Nieces and nephews Neil, Martin, Deborah, Paul, Alison, Audrey, Susan, Gemma, Amanda, Kevin and late Eric and Tracy... and their children, and children’s children! Karen’s Uncle Danny (regular golf companion!), and cousin’s Julie, Neil, Joanne, Christine, Hannah, Jack and Tom. Karen’s cousin Louise, like a sister to Dawn and daughter to Karen and Ern... and her gorgeous family Jason, Archie and Teddie. Old Friends Christine and Dennys and their family Natasha, Liam, Channelle, Joanne, Johnny, Thomas and Charlie. Ernie had too many friends to list... and probably lots we don’t even know about! Friends meant a great deal to him... friends from school and growing up, work over the years, footy teams... and of course friends from his darts teams, and probably a few from opposition teams knowing Ernie! Losing him so suddenly has shocked Ernie’s nearest and dearest to the core, but we take comfort in knowing he was feeling fit and well and was doing what he loved, surrounded by friends. We hear he threw well that night and had a pint to celebrate! Join us in raising a glass to Ernie... following the service at Radcliffe Crematorium, we’ll be at The Conservative Club in the village. We’d love to see any photos you might have of Ernie from over the years. Write your name and address on the back, and if you don’t take them with you on the day we’ll post them back to you. Also have a think about your favourite memories of Ernie, we’ll have a remembrance book for you to write them in. In time Karen, and Ernie’s nearest and dearest, will find them a great comfort (and some probably very funny!).
