Rob's Life Story

Rob was a man who undoubtedly lived life to the full and was loved by everyone who came into contact with him. He valued his family enormously and was a fun-loving lad who enjoyed the huge benefit of a big family and a very large circle of friends. He was a very capable footballer and cricketer representing the county at football and also trialed with his beloved Bolton Wanderers (although he also had some allegiances to Manchester United and was consequently referred to as a pink by his brother Tim). Rob was cruelly diagnosed in 2012 with MND. He fought this horrible disease with huge courage and dignity and managed to maintain a quality of life for quite a significant part of the 6 years he was poorly. He never once complained about his situation and neither did he hide himself away. He held his head high and retained his wicked sense of humour right until the very end. He leaves behind Laura, Scott and Mia and a very saddened family. He will be greatly missed by his family and his friends. In the final weeks of his life he received incredible support and care from Bolton Hospice and as such the family would like to request that any donations made by his well-wishers are provided to the Hospice in recognition.
