One of life's true gentlemen

“To the world you may be just one person, to one person you are the world" To us he was our world. A true gentleman who closed his eyes for the very last time on 19th June 2018. Jeff had a wonderful life and we all have some wonderful memories of him. He loved his family dearly, his golf and his holidays. Last year Dad was diagnosed with terminal Oesophageal cancer. Our world came crashing down. The doctors gave him very little hope of any form of happiness again, until he visited The Christie hospital, and we saw things in a different light. The Christie gave us hope and support beyond words. Most importantly they gave Dad another 15 months with us. Nothing was ever too much trouble and the staff can only be described as truly amazing. Because of The Christie, Dad continued to enjoy his passions. He still managed to get round the golf course and have his pie and coffee afterwards in the club house with his friends. He still managed some wonderful holidays to Tenerife, the Carribbean and Devon. But most of all he continued to make wonderful memories with those who he loved dearly. Whenever we had a question, The Christie team were there. Whenever he became poorly, The Christie team was there.<br /> We will never be able to thank them enough for all they did for Dad and our family. Hence .... The reason for this page. Our family have decided to ask for donations to The Christie. Flowers are a beautiful gesture but will soon die, whereas a contribution to The Christie will help to give someone else a chance at life, or a shot at finding a cure to this brutal illness. So please give what you can. Thank you so much. Jeff's family x
