Our Lovely Mother

For those of you that knew Dee, I bet you all can think of a great memory. Please write  some happy memories in our book of condolences for us all to read about and remember good times.  Dee was born and raised in Bury, with her sister Margaret and lived all her life here. At a young age, she married John and they had three children. During their marriage, they were landlords of several pubs and made many friends - some of the pubs were 'Eagle and Child' on Bolton Road and 'Shepherds Arms' in Swinton. Dee worked at Woodbury, looking after adults with disabilities for 14 years - retiring early to look after her grandchildren. She sadly buried her husband in 1998 and she remained a widow following his death. Dee was proud grandmother to five grandchildren, all of whom adored her - known as 'Dee Dee'. She was always the first to chat to everyone and loved social occasions with the family. More recently, she found a whole new sense of freedom with her electric scooter; visiting from Gretna Green to the Lake District! A generous, kind, caring person who made an impression on many people and has left us with some great memories that will make us smile fondly in times to come. Dee only suffered for a short while and died peacefully at Bury Hospice surrounded by her family. Rest In Peace, Love you Forever x x x
