My Dear Mum, Thank you everything !
1) For fighting so hard and making many sacrifices - after the sudden and unexpected loss of Daddy in Sept. 1972 - in order to overcome and master all difficulties and obstacles.
2) For being allowed to go through the normal public school education system (instead of being sent away to a private boarding school) and later being able to attend University instead of having to start normal working life straight after school.
3) For teaching me discipline, always to be honest and that is always better to be a good loser rather than a good winner.
4) For always showing interest, having an open ear and having both trust and faith in me despite living and working far away down in the South of Germany.
5) For everything else that I have not mentioned, e.g. your kindness, your love, your work for charities etc.
.
In addition, I will always treasure the fond memories - with the many photos - of your holidays here in Germany, visiting lovely places together with you during my trips home, like the Lake District, the Seaside or the Yorkshire Dales before going to dine at your favourite restaurant “San Marino” which, I know, you always looked so much forward to.
During the last few years, there have been so many tearful Goodbyes on a Sunday afternoon, never knowing whether there would ever be another “Wiedersehen”.
May you now rest in peace.
I will always miss you so much and forever.
Lots of love
Ian xx
Margaret - thank you for the good times we had together - two special friends who loved shopping, lunching and talking! May you rest in peace - I shall treasure the memories we had forever.
You were a great mum to Helen, her dedication and love for you is a reflection of the love and sacrifice you showed her. May you sleep in peace in the Bossom of the Lord and we pray for comfort for Helen and Ian.
To Mum , you taught me to have standards, iron everything , good housekeeping, gardening, a love of singing /musicals, cook and bake, and ultimately to be strong . Loyal as a friend to others.
You never complained of pain or at least not to me and you were one of a kind.
Lots of Love, I know you will be watching over me , Helen xx
