The Life of Dorothy Moir

Dorothy was born in Portsoy, Banff with the closest big city being Inverness all the way back on 30th October 1938.

She grew up in and around Portsoy, Banff, Buckie and Inverness as a youngster and eventually met her future husband, Frank. Together they moved to Corby with Frank's work and not so long after their first daughter, Karen, was born.

After spending a few years in Corby the family packed up and made the massive journey emigrating to Sydney, Australia. A very next year, their second and final bundle of joy arrived in the form of Susan.

The children grew up with Karen moving back to England after Dorothy's first grandson, Matthew, was born. Soon after Karen moving back to England, Dorothy would decide to join her, choosing to live in Bolton.

A little later Frank followed Dorothy and they were back to living together once again. Together they would live happily in Little Lever where Karen had also set up roots.

Not long after Frank's passing, Dorothy moved into Crompton Court where she made some great friends and enjoyed spending time going for lunch, shopping and playing bingo.

The last few years weren't great heatlh for Dorothy, however, she had the full support and love of her daughter, Karen. This support was greatly appreciated by Dorothy and the shared love between the two was a thing of great beauty.
