Glenn, originally from Mexborough passed away at home in Bury on April 10th 2020, surrounded by his family who held him close and whispered words of love as he passed away. A proud and strong Yorkshireman to the end.
Beloved Husband of Alison, a cherished Dad to Becky and Sam, loved Father in Law of Dave and Gemma and adored Grandad of Jacob, Charlotte and Isla.
Dear Son of the late June and Derek, dear Brother of the late Roger.
Glenn had a wicked sense of humour and shared a real love for travel and adventure. A hardworking man who’s loyalty knew no bounds. You taught us all so very much. Taken too soon but what a privilege it was to have you in our lives. Cherished memories time will never erase.
As our hearts learn to heal we will miss you immeasurably and love you forever Glenn.

Today we should have been celebrating your 60th birthday. I lay here desperately wishing things were different. Hours have turned into days, days, weeks and now months. The pain remains unbearable and often stops me in my tracks. For you should be here with us now and I miss you so very much.
Have a big whiskey up there for me today Glenn. Not a second goes by that I dont wish you were here. You will remain in my heart forever.

I worked with Glenn in the late eighties and early nineties at Tesco . I moved onto different regions and eventually left Tesco .
I still reminisce those days and nights out with Glenn . His dry sense of humour and his unique management style are still with me now . I robbed a lot of his sayings and still use them now , well some of them !!
Glenn you will always be in my heart
Glenn you lit up any room you were in and I will always remember your smile and kindness. We have great memories of yours and Alison's wedding it was a day of lots of love, laughter and happiness. I'm sure Uncle Derek, Aunty June and Roger will be looking after you now. RIP Glenn you will be missed xxx
Glenn,
Some of my greatest memories are when I would come and help you and mum at the motorhome shows. I can still picture you now, as eager as ever when I'd arrive and you'd stop whatever you were doing to talk me through the layout and how well you thought we could do.
We used to chat and laugh our way through the weekends and I loved every minute.
With your help I've managed to set up and run my motorhome Ebay business which will support our family for years to come.
You taught me endless things, from the hilarious to the critical but the patience and love you had when you handed down your knowledge made them moments even more special.
Our garden that you helped to shape and design is now in my hands to nurture and make sure your legacy lives on.
To me, you are an amazing dad that has helped shaped my life and given me the skills to do so.
You will always live on through me and that makes me so proud.
Love from your Son, Sam x
Glenn, what a privilege and honour it was to have met you and worked by your side. Your kindness and humour will be sorely missed by everyone. Rest in peace big man xx
Glen, an absolute gem of a man. His honesty, loyalty, kindness and humour shone brightly. A pleasure to have known him, a privilege to be his friend. Thank you for the memories and laughter Glen, they will be treasured. Xxx
I remember all the laughs we had, the conversations we had and the trips we took. It was a pleasure to know you and an honour to call you my friend.
As long as youre in peoples memories and your name is spoken youll still be in our hearts.
Sleep well Glenn, get the beers in ready :)
There are no words just sadness and tears at the moment but so many happy memories from when we met at work. Then you married my best friend and started a wonderful partnership together. Fond memories of holidays, camping, BBQ's abroad and in the "shanty"! Lunches and evenings out etc etc always lots of fun, laughter and banter and the odd tipple or two! Your whit was amazing as was your knowledge, determination, courage and friendship. You will only ever be 1 happy thought away... sleep tight up there with the good guys

Glenn, we were so lucky to meet you & Alison through work & become friends. Always good company, ready with a story & always willing to listen to ours. The escapades of your youth often surprised us. Your delight as a true Yorkshireman at finding out James was half Yorkshireman was priceless.
We loved your attention to detail, inventing, developing & taking opportunities. This also meant each new home was refurbished perfectly by you & Alison, the perfect team.
We admired your stoic optimism & you were truly inspirational. We know how much family & friends meant to you & we are so grateful for the friendship we had.
You will be missed so much & never forgotten.

How can you put into words a friendship that was so short but will stay with me forever. We worked together on many projects (well Glenn did the work) and could speak for hours on the phone, Ali probably got fed up with me. I can sum it up in 5 simple words 'YOU WERE MY BEST MATE' god bless you
