Sandra Maxine Kewn

Mums Eulogy My mum Sandra was a kind, warm, caring lady who went out of her way to help other people no mater what. She had a wonderful sense of humour lost, everyone that came across her thought she was a lovely lady. She had formed a couple of long-term friends for over 42 Years or more. My mum was bought up with five boys, who she helped look after them which stood her in good stead for when My Brother Trevor and Me came along. She taught us right from wrong, good manners, respect, these values have made me who I am today. During our childhood mum and dad struggled making ends meet but that did not stop them, spending time with us and loving us. From an early age I was also a daddys girl, but still close to my mum and Trev a proper mummys boy. I also knew how to get Trevor in trouble. No matter what we did wrong or happened in life they were both always there for us. As we grew older Trevor left home and started his own family, where I decided to remain at home, this gave me and mum time to spend together especially on my days of where we use to go shopping, pictures, but we also ending up in a pub and would ring my dad to come and collect us after work, gave us time for a few more drinks. Mum was passionate about her knitting and if she made a mistake it would all have to come off and she would start again, she would stay if you are going to do something it needs to be done right. The hardest thing I ever saw mum go through was losing my dad, she loved him more than life itself and had done since she was just 16years of age, Im convinced 90% of her died with him on 13/04/2015. I also knew from that day mum would need my support , so when we moved in together Jan 2016 I knew it would be for as long as she lived, over the last four and half years mum health started deteriorating but I never doubted that I was doing the right thing, I always put her first as she had us all them years ago and I had also promised my dad that I would make sure she would be ok. The last few months of her life have been hard, but we coped as we always had. Vera of my mums friends who she meet 42 years ago when me and craig her son started school has been brilliant not only as she been there for mum but me also and I cannot thank you enough. On the odd time I went for a drink with my best friend she would stay with mum until I came home. I am lucky to have the support from friends and family which is helping me through. I am so glad that I was with mum when she fell peacefully asleep for the last time, this leaves a massive hole in my heart and life and she will be surely missed by us all but her memory will live on forever. I love you so much mum and will miss you more than words can say, the comfort I can take from this is that she is no longer suffering and she is back in the arms of her beloved husband. I will make you both so proud of me. Trevor and I would like to thank you all for coming today to celebrate her life. Love you mum, goodnight God bless x
