What can you say about Martyn Havens?
I can only think of how he would describe himself - A Leg(end)
Martyn was a very devoted Husband, Father, Son, Brother and Friend who would not think twice about helping those he cared about.
Martyn would not want us all to sit around being sad about him, he would want us to celebrate his life, which despite all the hardships he faced, he made sure was a brilliant one.
So please leave your comments on this page on how you will remember our Dad.
All I can say is Martyn lived his life his way and he would not have wanted it any other way.

Martyn...a lovely, funny man. I will always remember the times we all had at Heather Bank. I can picture you now sitting in your kitchen watching the football, over at ours dancing & drinking with mum & dad & the rest of the gang or just popping over with Rach.
Raising a glass for you tonight & sending lots of love to Chris, Jonny, Rach & all the family.
Xxx
Martyn was an extremely well loved family friend, cousin, uncle and work colleague to both of our families. We have many happy memories of him when we were growing up, but in recent years he was always the life and soul of every family do. He could out drink anyone, and was always the last one standing! He had a wicked sense of humour and a smile that looked like he was up to no good! Chris, Jonny and Rach - our hearts go out to you. Your Dad was so proud of you and will continue to be. We will be raising a glass tonight to the legend that is Martyn Havens and hope we can all celebrate his life together like he would want us to when this is over. Rest in peace Martyn xxx
Whilst I feel very sad and upset at the thought of never seeing Hags unmistakable smile lighting up any room he entered the memories of our time together brings a warmth to my heart and a smile to my face. My stag do in Amsterdam, annual Gold cup days in the Bobs Smithy pub, the test cricket at old Trafford and the European Man Utd away trip to Porto. All these events were made so much more memorable having him around, as was life in general. What a great man! Reunited with your lovely lynne. Sleep tight Haggis, we will miss you.
Haggis, one of the funniest people I ever knew. So many hilarious stories that will live on and always make us laugh.
I will also remember him as being a great dad to Chris, Jonny and Rachel. Raising his young family when Lynn passed away was so difficult for him but he did it. Back now with the love of his life.
Rest in peace Hag, well miss you xx

Uncle Martyn, you were the life and soul of all the family get togethers. We have so many memories growing up, which we will never forget . Loved our Christmas days round the (adult) table with all the family, making us laugh with your jokes. We will all miss you and you will always be in our hearts. Give Auntie Lynne a big hug from us and look after each other. Love you lots Joanne, Michael,Mark and Jess xxxxxxxx
Martyn was a legend of a man. I spent a lot of my childhood in his house with Chris and he was always welcoming (in his own unique way) and opened up his home to all of his childrens friends. I can picture him now sat at the kitchen table in Heatherbank giving great banter every time I went for a drink or to the toilet. He was a great dad to Chris, Jonny and Rach and will be greatly missed. I know he would want us to go and raise a glass to him once this is all over and that is what we shall do.
Martyn, you were such a lovely, funny, easy going guy and I will miss our conversations so much.
You were always there to lend a helping hand whenever we needed it - nothing was ever too much trouble.
I will cherish the warm memories, especially those from Christmas time. I am so very sorry that you will not be with us to make many more happy ones. Although you will not be here as we continue our journey together, I know you will always be with us in our hearts - every step of the way. I will never forget you Martyn. Goodnight, sleep well.
Love Alex xx
Martyn was my cousin,
I have very fond happy memories of growing up with Martyn and
the family.
I remember taking Tina the boxer to the park on many occasions. As we got older we used to have a really good time at Bennys.
May you rest in peace and heart felt condolences to all the family x
Its been a week since I found out about your passing, it. has been one of the hardest weeks of my life.
After looking through all old and new photos, videos and messages I dont think I ever appreciated how funny you actually were usually just thought how embarrassing but I was just a stupid teenager ;).
You really were one of a kind, super caring, one not to be forgotten. Youve made me and boys who we are today and we all have a piece of you in us.
Love you forever dad xoxo
