I cannot believe that my dad is gone
I am heartbroken and sad
I hope that he knows I love him so much
And he was my hero, my dad
I couldnt go near to my dad at the end
Hug him or hold his hand
Because of the distancing guidelines
Going close to each other was banned
Ill never forget the good times
Memories full of joy
All the lovely holidays
And sleepovers with the boys
When I was small I had nightmares
And he used to hold my hand
He made the nightmares go away
Ill always remember that, Dad
Im so happy you were there for me
Through all the good times and bad
All I can say is Im happy and proud
To call such a good man my dad
John was a rare beast -=a friend met through business and who remained close and much valued . Even for a Man U supporter he was someone I could relate to , even as an Arsenal follower ! Love you both and Budapest is a memory we will always treasure xxxx
Very Many condolences to you Denise and your family. John was a great friend, a great colleague and an all round first class individual. He will be sorely missed by the many who knew and loved him. RIP in peace my friend. Lots of love Mike and Jill Steele
Find memories of John. Chloe & I always needed help with our homework, after a fantastic meal cooked by Denise! Rest easy John xx
Real man, good friend, great lad, huge loss.
Known John most of my life and shared too many of my best times and laughs with him. Including the pic here which is from my Stag night in Prague 25 years ago. And no he wasn't calling you Denise he was calling Lamps at 2am so we could all sing to him . Not sure I've ever laughed as much as the day we all sat by the river under the Charles Bridge while John held court. Thankful to have known you John and will always think about you. Safe journey pal x
I first met John when he arrived at Stand GS in 1967. Although he was a Yorkshireman his ready wit and sense of humour meant that John John was soon accepted by his contemporaries. My late wife Sue and I enjoyed the company of John and Denise on many occasions. RIP John, you will be sadly missed.
Sean
John was such a kind and generous man. He doted on his grandchildren and he will be sorely missed. We both wish we could be at the funeral but we will be raising a glass in his memory. Sending lots of love to Denise, Chloe and the family. Xxx

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you
and whispered "come to me"
With tearful eyes I watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay
A golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes The Best ️
My childhood memories are full of happy times with John, Denise & Chloe. Summer holidays camping in France were what we lived for! Running commentary videos of his and my dads trips to the local vineyard, bbqs on the beach and nearly getting kicked off the campsite for being too noisy!!! Then there were the party nights at each others houses, putting on shows for the grown ups and dressing up for fun. Always full of laughter. Happy memories of my Godfather John... apart from him forgetting his speech at my wedding ceremony in Greece! (he made up for it and did it in the evening instead!). Sending love and strength to all his family and friends at this sad difficult time. We will be lighting a candle and raising a glass to him tomorrow. Big love from Gemma & family xxxx
I worked with John at Winnetts and it was a pleasure to have worked with him
Always cheerful and good natured
I am sure all his work colleagues and many customers will miss him
Gone too soon RIP
Ever so sad, please accept my condolences, lost my wife thru cancer, a lousy disease. Hadnt seen John and Denise in many years, but had some great times back in Manchester. Deep thoughts. Will raise a glass also tomorrow afternoon.
Stuart.
Condolences again to the whole family on your loss. I will raise a glass to toast You John tomorrow and the next time I visit Old Trafford
John - we had some amazing holidays and fun times together with our families and as couples - so wish there could have been more. Thinking of you Denise, Chloe, Michael, Gary, Lisa and all of your families at this very sad time.
Missing my Dad so much
In loving memory of John Earl. Xx
