    Greetings

I first knew Phil when he wore short trousers at primary school. He later married my best friend Karen and had three beautiful and loving children. Although Ive not been in contact for some years, it was good to see that hed found love again in Lois. I am so sad that Phil has been taken far too early and left a beautiful family. Rest in peace Phil. My thoughts and prayers are with all your family at this very sad time. Love Janice xxx

I want to send my love and condolences to all Phil's family at this very sad time.

Like everyone else I could not believe that Phil had been taken from us, so early and well before his time. Looking back I see that I have had the benefit of working with Phil for over 11 years, During this time he has been instrumental in providing both excellent information and good honest and clear opinions about whatever we faced at each stage of a very long and trying development. He was the epitomy of "say it like it is", this much to the benefit of his colleagues and to business generally. I have always enjoyed working with Phil, he was a credit to his occupation and I will greatly miss him.

My condolences to Lois and the family. What a great experience working with Phil, certainly larger than life but the heart was always in the right place. He will be sadly missed, RIP Phil

On the relatively few occasions we spoke and especially reading the comments left by those who truly knew him , I regret not taking more time to contact Phil. He obviously was a force to be reckoned with and had a good sense of humour . RIP Phil and my sincere condolences to all.

I wasnt fortunate enough to meet you Phil, but I am incredibly grateful that he graced us with his eldest daughter Emily who has been one of my very best friends. I would love to be able to personally give you my thanks for that, I send my most heartfelt condolences to his three children and all of his grandchildren who now continue through life without a man who was so loved, who carried his children through the loss of their mother so young. I pray you are at peace and that you are waiting. Please God give your children the strength to continue making you eternally proud and to keep your memory alive forever - my love and warmest wishes to your family at such a difficult time, rest in heavenly peace - God Bless

I grew up with Phil on Cedar Drive/Walnut Close. We went to the same schools, played football and cricket together and stopped a few pints from going sour. He was a great guy, the nicest bloke you could meet, but don't cross him on the sports field. We lost touch years back after I married, but I will never forget the comment at a cricket semi final in 1995 in Worcester whilst watching Lancs. A voice boomed out next to me "who ate all the pies". There was Phil large as life sporting a huge grin. Typical Bailey I thought and a few more pints were downed. You had a good innings, but unjustly given out too soon. Rest in peace my old friend.

    Totally shocked by the news.
Phil was a tiotally unique guy, hard on the outside soft on the inside.
One of the sharpest minds I have ever known and sometimes one of the sharpest tempers when "fools" got in his way, but he was invaluable to me and during his time at Thomas French and his sharp incisive brain found ways through some tricky times.
I was very pleased to meet him again at Evans and see how he had been able to shine once more.
Great guy and a real character.

I'm so sorry for your loss Lois and family. Phil was an amazing man and friend. I'll never forget when I first started working with him he took me for a pint and told me of the potential he saw in me. A fantastic teacher he taught me more than work. I'll miss our daily chats, your stories which you told me many times that cheered me up when I needed it. Your cooking advice and food you brought in which was always amazing. I'll miss our daily watch chats and talking about our grail watch dreams.

A true great who loved his wife and family and fiercely proud of them.

    Rest easy Phil.

My first memory of Phil was of interviewing a man for the senior position of Financial Accountant dressed in a suit, top button undone- tie loose and white training shoes and white socks- he came over as a down to earth, highly intelligent with a strong character who spoke as he saw it.-
Over the years he proved to be just that- a formidable ally who always spoke his mind- unique in the corporate world today
Although he followed the funny shape ball sport he always had a valid argument for most sports including the sport I follow with the correct shape ball.- on the occasions when we were away on business, travelling together or sharing a pint in the evening he would often voice a well founded alternative view to sport- always interesting
Underneath the bravado was a man who loved his family and would always put them first, He spoke of all your achievements, of his grandchildren and having found a soul mate Lois after so long on his own- he was very proud of all of you.
    Always in my thoughts

Seems so unfair what has happened in that you and my dear friend Lois had such a short space of time together. I can only thank you from the bottom of my heart how safe and happy you made her feel. Seeing her find her prince and marry him was a special day we will always remember. You travelled the world together and even.managed to convince her of 'barge life' so you must have been someone special we will now look after her for you till we can all meet again and have one big party up there. Rest in peace phil. love jane n jim xxx

Baby my heart is broken. I feel robbed you left me so soon as we still had so many places we wanted to visit. I am also thankful for all the things we did and all the fabulous memories we have made. I am so glad you asked me to marry you and I became your Mrs Bailey, we had the best day. I have stood by your side to the end, I was always there for you and now I will be there for your children and your grandchildren. Adjusting to a life without you will be tough but I am surrounded by fab support from amazing family and friends. I'll not stop travelling and take you with me in my heart wherever I go. Keep dancing. I love you to the moon and back baby, my heart is broken. I will never forget you, always and forever as the words to our first dance told us. xx
