Dave was lovely soul great sense of humour and dedicated to his family when your mum was so cruelly taken he stood firm and guided you all through it .Its so sad that he too has left us too soon .

I was so glad I got to speak to Dave when he was in hospital a few weeks ago, and told him what a great job he has done with Josh, Alex and Isobelle and that they were a credit to him and managing things just great back home.

Sid and I were also pleased that we were able to let Dave and family use our apartment in Spain, which I know he had very fond memories of and just loved being there in the beautiful hot sunshine.

We shall both miss him dearly and the laughs we had together when talking about Stuart and his exploits.

We shall always remember him as he lives on in his wonderful kids, and may you all be comforted by your many friends and family at this difficult time, we are constantly thinking of you all and sending our love.

Cousin Dave was an amazing person. As we were both only children, I always looked up to him as an older brother figure. So many happy family memories including when he gave me away on my wedding day. A truly wonderful cousin. He will be missed x

Dave was one of life's true gentleman's.. Such a kind and caring person who totally loved and devoted his life to lovely Josh, Alex and Issy. He will be truly missed. Orli spent many happy times with the whole of the Gittins family and enjoyed a fabulous week at Center Parcs when Orli and Issy were much younger. Both Erica and Dave treated Orli as if she were part of the family and Eddie remembers fondly when he surprised them all to spend a bit of time with them when they were on the holiday.. Sending lots of love to you all xxxx

Uncle David - We didnt see each other at all over the last however many years, but many of my fondest childhood memories have you and Erica in them for sure.
I remember I always used to think you were the tallest man ever, but this is likely due to my own Dad being on the short side I remember you, Erica and Josh coming to ours for Christmas one year when I was very young and there was thick snow - you, me, my dad and (I think) Josh climbed over the (very small) fence at Tropical World and walked around the snowy gardens at night time, it was magical like something from a film.
I used to love coming to stay with you and Erica to see my cousins in what was a welcoming, cosy and heartwarming environment (and always had plenty of fress!).
Josh, Alex and Issy - life really hasnt been fair to you with Dave and Erica, but no one can doubt how proud they were of you and what a good job they did raising you all.
    Thoughts are with you all.

    All my love,
    Simone xxx

    Greetings

    To my Daddy Day.

I was your first child technically (sorry Josh) and you treated me like I was your own daughter for a long time. I felt like your house was as much my own growing up and I loved that I had that comfort of knowing that you and Auntie Erics were always there for me.

You had a wicked sense of humour and when I say wicked I mean wicked. You really knew how to make everyone laugh with your dry comedy. You were a genuine person and everyone knew where they stood with you. You cared for people so deeply and put your family before everything else.

I will smile whenever I think of you and I am so proud to be your niece. I will tell my children all about you and I will make sure I tell them not to give me any beef from you.

Love you so much, Hannah x

Wishing you heartfelt condolences and so so sorry I cannot be with you to offer support and love at this time.

I will always remember Daves kindness and warmth, even recently when he telephoned me directly to apologise as I was unaware of his illness.....completely unnecessarily.... he always considered other peoples feelings and nothing was ever too much trouble. The world is now a poorer place.

Perhaps a comfort that he Is now reunited with Erica.

I wish you all Long Life
